LG Dual Burner Not Heating Properly - Intermittent Cooktop Control Board Problem

A dual-zone burner on this LG range stopped heating on both cooking zones intermittently. The problem was not constant, which made the diagnosis more complex than a completely failed burner element.
During the first stage of testing, Appliance Fix Lab checked the electrical parameters of the burner system. Initial readings appeared normal, which is a common situation with intermittent cooktop failures. Some electrical faults only appear under certain heat conditions, connection movement, or control board instability.
Additional diagnosis was performed after removing the rear protective cover of the range. The control board and related electrical connections were tested with a multimeter. During testing, unstable board behavior was observed. The burner later started working again after contact adjustment, but the operation was not considered stable enough to confirm a permanent repair.
Intermittent dual-burner problems in LG ranges may sometimes be connected to:
unstable control board operation
damaged or heat-stressed electrical connections
internal relay or electronic board faults
intermittent communication between control components
A burner that temporarily starts working again after contact movement or electrical adjustment should not automatically be considered fully repaired. In some cases, the problem may return unpredictably during future cooking cycles.
For this LG range, Appliance Fix Lab recommended control board replacement as the more reliable long-term repair direction.
Intermittent oven and cooktop electrical problems can be difficult to diagnose because the appliance may pass one test cycle and fail during another. Proper electrical testing helps identify unstable fault patterns more accurately and reduces unnecessary part replacement.
