Dishwasher stopped mid-cycle and left water inside the tub. The display showed E24 error. This is one of the most common drainage-related issues in modern dishwashers.
In this service case, the appliance appeared to run normally at the beginning of the cycle, but water was not draining out. As a result, the machine stopped and the E24 error was triggered.
What does E24 error mean
E24 error is typically associated with a drainage problem.
This means the dishwasher is unable to remove water from the system. Even if the appliance starts normally, restricted water flow inside the drain system can interrupt the cycle and cause the machine to stop.
Common signs include:
dishwasher stops mid-cycle
water remains at the bottom
repeated attempts to drain
longer or incomplete cycles
What causes drainage problems in dishwashers
In many cases, the issue develops gradually.
Over time, debris can build up inside the internal drain path. This restricts water flow and prevents the system from operating properly.
When water cannot leave the machine, the dishwasher may stop the cycle and display an error code such as E24.
What we found during inspection
During inspection, the dishwasher was opened to access internal components and the drain system.
A blockage was found inside the drain path, preventing water from leaving the appliance. This restriction caused the dishwasher to stop mid-cycle and trigger the E24 error.
After identifying the issue, the blockage was cleared and the system was tested.
Result after repair
Once the drain path was restored, the dishwasher returned to normal operation.
Water was draining correctly, and the cycle completed without interruption.
Why early inspection matters
Problems like this rarely happen instantly.
The dishwasher may continue working for some time while performance gradually declines. By the time water remains inside the unit, the issue is already developed.
Early inspection helps:
prevent full cycle failure
avoid repeated errors
reduce additional wear on internal components
When to call for service
If your dishwasher shows E24 or leaves water after the cycle, it is a clear sign that the internal system requires inspection.
Ignoring the issue may lead to more serious problems over time.
