. The customer’s complaint was simple but serious: the dryer turned on, the drum was tumbling, but there was no heat at all and the clothes stayed completely wet after every cycle. During diagnostics we checked the power supply, heating element, thermostat circuit and safety devices. The tests showed that the high-limit safety temperature sensor, which is designed to protect the dryer from overheating and prevent a potential fire hazard, had failed and was permanently shutting the heater off.
However, the failed sensor was only a symptom. Further inspection revealed heavy lint build-up inside the dryer cabinet and in the vent duct going from the dryer to the outside wall. Restricted airflow makes the internal temperature rise, which can trigger and eventually damage the safety sensor. After confirming the cause, our technician replaced the sensor, carefully cleaned the inside of the dryer from lint and dust, and then cleaned the entire vent line to restore proper airflow. After the repair, the dryer heated normally again and successfully completed a full drying cycle.
As a professional appliance repair company in Winnipeg, Appliance Fix Lab works with many major brands, including Samsung dryers, and always pays special attention to safety and long-term reliability. We remind homeowners to clean the lint filter after every load and to have the dryer vent inspected and cleaned at least once a year. Regular maintenance helps reduce the risk of overheating, protects your home, and allows your dryer to dry clothes faster and more efficiently. This case is a good example of how timely diagnostics and proper cleaning can bring a “cold” dryer back to normal operation and extend the life of the appliance.
